ILEC Implementing Power Cost Adjustment Due to Rising Costs

(Estherville)--Due to rising wholesale power costs, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative is implementing a Power Cost Adjustment or PCA. ILEC President and CEO Ryan Craig says the PCA is something they’ve done in the past.

At least two companies have expressed interest in building a data center in the Estherville area. Craig says implementing the Power Cost Adjustment has nothing to do with data centers.

He says if a large data center were to locate in Iowa Lakes’ service territory that cost would not be passed onto member owners.

Craig says it will be a challenge for power companies to meet the rising demand for electricity.

Craig spoke with Dave Van Roekel Wednesday morning on KILR FM 95.9
