POSTPONEMENTS & CANCELLATIONS 

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has extended the Public Health Disaster Emergency in Iowa until April 30th. All public gatherings of 10 or more people are prohibited. Bars and restaurants are temporarily closed, although carry-out and drive-thru options can continue. The order also temporarily closes all the state's casinos, movie theaters, fitness clubs, salons, barber shops, medical spas, massage therapists, tattoo shops and swimming pools. The following nonessential retail establishments will also be closed: bookstores, clothing stores, shoe stores, jewelry stores, luggage stores, cosmetic, beauty or perfume stores, florists and furniture and home furnishing stores. The Governor's directive also calls for the closing of all senior citizen centers and adult daycares to the public. 

 

ELC Schools is serving breakfast and lunch. This is free for all children ages 0-18. You can pick up at one of the following locations from 9:00am - 11:00am Monday through Friday: ELC Circle Drive, by the Middle School entrance...Thoreson Park Pavillion, enter by Good Sam and then exit onto North 15th Street...and City Pool Concession Stand at Riverside Park. 

 

The North Union Community School District will be offering free meals of breakfast and lunch for all children ages 1-19. Families will be able to drive through to pick up meals on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at these sites: Armstrong and Swea City Schools, and the Ringsted, Fenton, Lone Rock, Bancroft and Ledyard Bus Stops. On Mondays, kids will receive meals for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesdays, kids will receive meals for Wednesday and Thursday. On Fridays, they'll receive breakfast and lunch for Friday only.

 

Avera Holy Family Hospital is not allowing visitors in order to protect patients and staff from the spread of COVID-19. For end-of-life, NICU and pediatric cases, Avera will allow limited visitors. Avera is setting up virtual visitation at several of its hospitals. Clinic patients are allowed to have one critical visitor at their appointments; however, this visitor may not be positive for COVID-19 and may not be displaying symptoms of respiratory illness. The cafeteria at Avera Holy Family is still closed to the public until further notice. The Saturday Walk-In clinics will be closed until further notice. All emergency needs should utilize the Emergency Department. Avera Home Medical Equipment is implementing curbside pick-up for all needs. Please call 362-3568 for assistance or for more information. 

 

Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville - all in-person activities are suspended until further notice. Pastor Cole will be posting recorded services on Facetime Live.

 

St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville - All Masses and activities are suspended until further notice. Holy Week liturgies are suspended. Religious Education classes are over until September. First Communion has been postponed. A future date will be chosen mid-April.

 

Immaculate Conception Church in Graettinger/Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg - All Masses and activities are suspended until further notice. 

 

Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville - all services and activities are suspended until further notice.

 

Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville - all services, small groups and Awana are cancelled until further notice.

 

The Estherville United Methodist Church has cancelled all meetings, groups, and events until otherwise notified. There will still be a Sunday morning worship service at 9:30 a.m., but it will not be open to the public. You may watch or listen to the service on the Channel 3 roll-up, KILR FM 95.9, or Facebook. 

 

Calvary Baptist Church in Estherville - all services are cancelled until further notice.

 

First Christian Church in Estherville - all activities are cancelled until further notice. 

 

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville - all activities and services cancelled until further notice. 

 

First Presbyterian Church of Estherville will conduct Sunday services at 10:30am without a congregation present until further notice. The service will continue to broadcast on KILR and channel 3.

 

Estherville Lutheran Church - All activities are cancelled until further notice.

 

Church of the Nazarene - church services are cancelled until further notice.

 

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City is cancelling all church activities until further notice.

 

Dr. Courtney Meyer's Dental Office will be closed through April 7.

 

Estherville City Offices will be closed to the public until further notice. Staff will be available by phone and email. Utility bills can be paid online, by phone with a credit card or by placing a check or money order in the drop box. The Estherville Public Library will be closed until further notice. 

 

The ECCOG Transfer Station in Estherville is closed to the public until further notice. ECCOG will only be open for City garbage trucks, private haulers, and other charge customers. Please call ahead for admittance at 712-362-5250.

 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the City of Estherville's Parks & Recreation Department has cancelled the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The board members have closed all City Parks for the health and safety of the community. The walking trails are exempt from this order as are the lunch distribution sites. For everyone's safety, please do not use any playground equipment until further notice.

 

Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative's annual meeting has been changed to a remote only, business-only, conference call meeting on Friday, April 17th. Member-owners wishing to participate can use their phones and dial into the conference call, find information about that in your April newsletter. Also, ballots are due April 15th.  

 

Area AA and Al-Anon meetings are cancelled until further notice.

 

The Palo Alto County Health System is now at Level 4 visitor restrictions. West Bend and Graettinger Clinics will not see patients with respiratory symptoms. All respiratory patients will be seen at the Emmetsburg Clinic. No walk-in patients will be seen at any of the family practice clinics - all patients must call ahead first. Patients and visitors will be screened at the main entrance.

 

The Emmet County Law Enforcement Center has restricted access to the public until further notice. The public is asked that if it is necessary to make contact with the Emmet County Sheriff's Office or Estherville Police to do so by phone if at all possible.

 

Friends of the Ringsted Library meeting is cancelled for tonight. (April 6th)
