(Estherville)--The Estherville Lincoln Central Community School District will conduct an active intruder drill this Wednesday as part of ongoing school safety efforts.
According to a letter sent home to parents, during the exercise, students will be asked to respond using the strategies they have learned through prior ALICE training. Depending on the scenario, this may include evacuation of the building. A mock intruder scenario may be used at the middle school and/or high school, and the Estherville Police Department will be onsite to assist.
The letter says the goal of ALICE is to provide individuals with information and options so they can make informed decisions, move away from danger when possible, and respond in ways that increase overall safety.
All students in attendance on Wednesday will participate. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your child’s building principal or the district office.
