(Arnolds Park)--An Arnolds Park police officer charged with allegedly providing a gun to his underage son has been placed on administrative leave.
According to Dickinson County Court records, 46-year-old Andy Yungbluth is charged with one count of transfer of a pistol or revolver to a person under 18, a serious misdemeanor.
The criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office states that during an interview Yungbluth told a deputy he provided the gun to his son for protection while at home and to shoot raccoons for someone outside of the city limits.
A special prosecutor has been appointed at the request of the Dickinson County Attorney due to conflict of interest concerns. An initial appearance and preliminary hearing for Yungbluth are scheduled for November 19th in Dickinson County Court.
