Extremely High Speeds Still a Major Concern on Iowa Roads

Category: Local News

(Estherville)--The Iowa State Patrol says vehicles traveling at extremely high rates of speed remain a major concern on Iowa roads. State Trooper Kevin Krull says troopers have been pulling over drivers going between 125 and 150 mph. Krull says while the numbers have improved slightly there is still far too many people driving way too fast.

Krull says enforcing the speed limit is always a high priority for the state patrol.

On another topic, Krull reminds drivers to be on the lookout for deer which are more active in the  fall.

He says swerving to avoid a deer can lead to even worse outcomes.

Krull spoke with Dave Van Roekel Monday morning on KILR FM 95.9.
