(Spirit Lake)---A proposed recreational trail on the former railroad right-of-way from Orleans to just west of Superior has been awarded state funding. Erin Reed is Executive Director of the Dickinson County Trails Board.
Reed provides details about the project.
She says the state grant paves the way for the trail board to seek additional funds for the project.
Reed says they hope to begin work on the project in 2027.
The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors last week approved a resolution supporting federal funding for the project.
