(Washington, D.C.)--Farmers are hoping the full Senate will take action soon on a new farm bill. The bill was approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee earlier this month on a party line vote. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is a member of the Ag Committee.
Grassley says the lack of bi-partisan support for a farm bill is very unusual.
He says the disagreement is on the error rate in the SNAP or food stamp program.
Some political observers say the Senate may delay action on the Farm Bill until after mid term elections.
