(Spencer)--The Iowa State Patrol is emphasizing the importance of seat belt usage at the Clay County Fair. Iowa State Trooper Kevin Krull says they have a new simulator at this year’s fair that shows the dangers of being unbuckled in a rollover accident.
Krull explains how the simulator works.
According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, unrestrained occupants account for about 47% to 50% of all passenger vehicle fatalities. Krull says the numbers are even worse if you are ejected from the vehicle.
Krull says speeding remains a major concern on Iowa roads.
The rollover simulator is located on the north edge of the depot building at the Clay County Fairgrounds.
