(Estherville)--The growing season is coming to an end for area corn and soybean crops. ISU Extension Agronomist Gentry Sorenson says some of the corn crop is showing signs of stress due to several factors.
Sorenson says soybeans are also starting to push toward maturity.
He says at this point area farmers are expecting an average harvest.
Sorenson says any additional rainfall will likely come too late to help the corn crop but could benefit soybeans.
According to this week’s USDA Weekly Crop report, corn and soybeans in Iowa both rated 77-percent good to excellent condition.
