(Washington, D.C.)--President Donald Trump late last week announced a U.S. deal with Venezuela to tap that country’s oil reserves. The agreement with the U.S. involves the development of 17 strategic oil fields in Venezuela that hold proven reserves of 65 billion barrels of oil. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says the deal will be a boon for U.S. oil producers.
Grassley says the deal won’t lower gas prices for American consumers in the near term.
