Estherville Man Facing Felony Domestic Abuse Charge

(Estherville)--An Estherville man is facing charges after a domestic abuse incident last weekend.

 

According to a criminal complaint filed in Emmet County District Court, 34-year-old Elvin Merlos Morales is charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury, a class D felony. The complaint says the incident occurred shortly after 6:50 pm on Saturday, August 22nd in the 1600 block of 375th Avenue. Merlos Morales is accused of placing his hands and fingers around the victim’s neck making it difficult to breath. The victim also had other physical injuries.

 

A preliminary hearing for Merlos Morales is scheduled for September 3rd at 4 pm in Emmet County District Court.

 

A no contact order has been issued preventing Merlos Morales from having contact with the victim.
