(Emmetsburg)--A Cylinder man has been sentenced to prison on sexual abuse charges.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday delivered 65-year-old Ronald Dean Smith of Cylinder to the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Oakdale. Smith was previously found guilty and subsequently sentenced on charges of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, Grooming, and Dissemination of Obscene Material. Smith was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree charge, 5 years on the Grooming charge, and 1 year for Dissemination of Obscene Material.
Smith's sentences for Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree and Grooming are to run consecutively and the charge of Dissemination of Obsene Material will run concurrently.
