
(Spencer)--Possible injuries were reported in a two vehicle accident last Saturday afternoon west of Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened just after 2:40 pm at the intersection of 190th Ave. and 350th St. Deputies say a 2014 Nissan Sentra driven by 19-year-old Destiny Cooke of Everly was stopped at the stop sign facing north on 190th Ave. A 2018 Ford Expedition driven by 28-year-old Alyssa Johnson of Spencer was traveling east on 350th Street and was approaching the intersection. Cooke failed to yield from the stop sign, entered the intersection, and started to turn west. Johnson struck the Cooke vehicle on the driver’s side.
Cooke was transported to Spencer Hospital with possible injuries. She was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, operation without registration, and failure to have a valid driver’s license,
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Hospital, the Spencer Fire and Rescue, Everly Fire and Rescue, the Spencer Police Department and Bud’s Service.
