
(Graettinger)—The schedule is set for the 130th annual Labor Day celebration in Graettinger. It’s the oldest Labor Day Celebration in the state of Iowa. Chairmen of the Graettinger Labor Day Committee, Phillip Schmidt says events get underway Friday, September 4th with the men’s golf tournament which runs through Sunday. Schmidt says Saturday begins with city wide garage sales.
Other activities include kids games, an adult bags tournament, and the Miss Graettinger contest.
He says Sunday begins with a breakfast at the Graettinger Fire Hall from 8 a.m. to noon followed by a Big Ball Softball tournament and a Truck, Tractor and Semi Pull.
Schmidt says Monday, Labor Day, starts with a trap shoot at the tractor pull site at 9 am.
He says the fun will continue after the parade.
