(Graettinger) – Jeff Dicks has been on the job as interim superintendent at the Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire School districts for a week. Dicks most recently served as the Interim Superintendent at Estherville Lincoln Central Schools during the 2024-25 school year. In an interview with KILR News, Dicks explains why he was interested in helping out the GT/RA school district on an interim basis.
In early June, an internal review by the Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire School Boards had revealed financial discrepancies in shared-service records between the two schools, dating back to 2022. A third party reviewer, Trust Point, was then brought in to examine the records and report its findings. Dicks says his job is to be transparent with the public regarding the findings and the financial situation the two schools face going forward.
Dicks says he sees lot of similarities working with GT/RA that he saw in his time working with ELC.
Two joint school board meetings will be held this evening: in Ruthven starting at 6 pm and in Graettinger at 7:30 pm. Dicks says the public is encouraged to attend to hear about Trust Point’s findings.
He says community members can also schedule an appointment with him if they want to learn more about the findings.
Dicks made his comments during the GTRA Spotlight program which can be heard every Wednesday evening at 5:45 pm on KILR FM 95.9.
