(Wallingford)–The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be hosting an informational open house on Wednesday, August 26th in Wallingford to discuss management plans for 12 Mile Lake in Emmet County. The come and go event will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Wallingford Community Center.
The DNR says the project is scheduled to start this fall with the installation of some infrastructure for a partial draw down of the lake to encourage the growth of emergent vegetation to improve water quality. Levels are expected to return to normal in the latter part of 2028.
DNR staff will be on hand to answer questions during the open house.
