Two Men Facing Drug Charges After Execution of Search Warrant in Ocheyedan

(Ocheyedan)--Two men are facing drug charges after the execution of a search warrant last week in Ocheyedan.

 

According to a criminal complaint, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Estherville Police Department in the execution of a search warrant Wednesday evening at the residence of 39-year-old Joshua Fields in Ocheyedan.

 

Fields answered the door of the residence while another man, 44-year-old Daniel Wilson of Milford, was found seated on a couch in the living room. The deputy observed items used to ingest methamphetamine in the living room.

 

A second search warrant was obtained to search for controlled substance and officers located a scale with a crystalline residue and two bags of powder/crystalline substance consistent with meth. The two bags contained about 13 grams of meth. Law enforcement also seized a glass jar containing green plant material consistent with marijuana, used baggies with a crystalline residue, and a THC vape. Also, a synthetic urine kit with two bottles of yellow liquid were found in Fields’ refrigerator.

 

Fields was charged with manufacturing, delivering, or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance - a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of meth, a Class B felony; possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, gathering where controlled substances are used, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, all Class D felonies. He was also charged with first-offense defrauding a drug/alcohol test with synthetic urine/urine additives and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Wilson was charged with gathering where controlled substances are used.

 

A preliminary hearing for Fields and Wilson has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 19th in Osceola County Court.

 

The two men are being held in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley, with bond set at $30,000 for Fields and $5,000 for Wilson.
