(Terril)--The long time Mayor of the city of Terril has resigned.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Julie Theisen announced her resignation effective July 30th.
In the post, Theisen said it has been an honor to service the residents of Terril on the City Council and as Mayor. Thiesen said she feels it is time for her to step down and give another person the opportunity to step up and serve Terril and its community.
It will now be up to the city council to decide whether to fill the vacancy by appointment or hold a special election.
