(Okoboji)--The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will host a public meeting next week to discuss plans to improve and stabilize the shorelines at Pillsbury Point on West Lake Okoboji. The meeting will be held on Thursday, August 6th at 6 p.m. at the Maser Monarch Lodge in Okoboji. Michelle Balmer, DNR Lake Restoration Program Coordinator, says the Pillsbury Point shoreline was one of many in the lakes area damaged by the 2024 flood.
Balmer says the project will stabilize and protect nearly 1,200 feet of steep public shorelines along West Lake Okoboji.
She details the timeline for the project.
Balmer says those attending the meeting can find out what to expect during construction.
Again, the meeting will be held on Thursday, August 6 at 6 p.m. at the Maser Monarch Lodge in Okoboji.
