Two People Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Accident Near Blue Earth

(Blue Earth, MN)--Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle accident late Saturday morning north of Blue Earth in Faribault County.

 

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident occurred shortly after 11:50 am on Highway 169 near the intersection of 150th St.

 

The patrol says a 1999 motorcycle driven by 42-year-old Thaddeus Van Riper of Glenville, MN was traveling north bound on Highway 169 when it left the road to avoid a deer. Van Riper and a passenger, 14-year-old Briley Van Riper were ejected from the motorcycle.

 

Both were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life threatening injuries.

 

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth Police and Fire Departments and Blue Earth and Winnebago Ambulance assisted at the scene.
