(Washington, D.C.)--The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded federal funding to three communities in northwest Iowa for damage from severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes in 2024.

The City of Spencer will receive $211,536 for the repair or replacement of building exteriors, building interiors, contents and exterior sites. 

Grand Avenue Community Outreach  in Spencer will receive $472,449 to fund the repair or replacement of contents and equipment.

The city of Rock Valley was awarded nearly $3.1 million  for private property debris removal. The disaster caused significant damage to private property in Rock Valley, creating an immediate threat to the health and safety of residents. Approximately 123 residential properties were found to be substantially damaged.

Also, the  Lyon County Fair Association will receive $217,500 to fund park racetrack repair or replacement.
