Clean-Up Underway Following Severe Storms in NW Iowa, SW Minnesota

(Lake Park)--Clean-up is underway after a line of severe storms moved through northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota early this(Tuesday) morning. The storms moved through between 2 and 3 am with wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph. The northwest part of Dickinson County including the city of Lake Park was hardest hit by the storm. Dickinson County Emergency Management Director Mike Ehret.

 

 

 

 

Several city streets were impassable this(Ruesday) morning due to tree damage. Ehret says the grain elevator in Lake Park was also damaged.

 

 

 

 

For information on clean-up efforts in Lake Park visit lakeparkia.com. Tree damage was also reported in Okoboji, Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park. In Emmet County, there was significant tree damage in the northern part of Estherville. Major tree damage was reported north of Bergan in Jackson County with possible structural damage to a house.
