Estherville Woman Enters Race for 5th District State Senate

(Estherville)--There is a new candidate in the race for 5th district State Senate. Rachel Gravert of Estherville announced earlier this week that she has qualified to run as an Independent or No Party candidate in the November General Election. Gravert, a high school English teacher, explains why she decided to run for the Senate.

Gravert was asked why she decided to run as a No Party candidate.

She says there are three main issues she’s most concerned about.

Gravert resigned from her teaching position with the Harris-Lake Park School District to run for the State Senate. She will face Incumbent Republican Dave Rowley in the General Election. Rowley fended off a challenge from Stacy Besch in Tuesday’s primary. Gravert will hold a meet and greet on Sunday at 3 pm at Prime Boji in Arnolds Park.  RSVP’s are requested by emailing rachel@gravertforiowa.com.
