(Algona)--The annual Algona Founders’ Day celebration is offering an opportunity to honor individuals who have had a positive impact on the community with two new awards.
The Spirit of Algona Youth Award was created to celebrate an Algona area resident, age 18 or younger, who demonstrates leadership, volunteerism and a genuine commitment to making Algona a great place to live, work and play.
The Algona Impact Award was created to honor an area resident, aged 19 or older, whose demonstrated leadership, volunteerism and positive contributions have resulted in a lasting impact on the community.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Founders’ Day Committee and other community volunteers. The selected recipients will be recognized during the Founders’ Day celebration and included in the weekend festivities. Nominations for both awards will be accepted in the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce office until 4 p.m. on Friday, June 19th.
