
(KILR)—Iowa voters will be going to the polls to cast ballots in today’s primary election.
There are no contested primaries in Emmet County. Write-in votes will determine the 2nd Republican party candidate and both Democratic Party candidates for the Board of Supervisors. Also each party’s candidate for County Attorney could also be decided by write-in votes.
Elsewhere around the area: there will be contested primaries for two seats up for election on the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors. Republicans Beth Will and Dan Taylor filed for the District One Seat and Republicans Thaddeus Cook and Steven Clark are running for the District Four Seat. No Democrat filed for either position.
In Clay County, there will be a Republican primary for the three seats up for election on the Board of Supervisors. Incumbents Barry Anderson and Brandon Edmonds will be on the ballot along with challengers Sharon Johannsen, Kim Kroger and Brent Trierwiler.
In Kossuth County, there will be Republican primaries for all three seats up for election on the Board of Supervisors. Bruce Pfeffer and Mike Genrich are running in District One, Gary Miller and Christopher Zinnel will be vying for the GOP nomination in District 3 and Barry Boland and Rodney Beenken are running in District 4.
There are no contested primaries in Palo Alto County.
The polls opened at 7 am and will remain open until 8:00 this evening. KILR News will have results after high school baseball on FM 95.9.
