(Estherville)--The Estherville Fire Department was requested by the Jackson Fire Department Monday to assist in the search for an 11-year-old child who wandered off near the Des Moines River.
According to a Facebook post, Estherville firefighters deployed their boat and UTV at Neppl’s bridge to search the West Bank of the river.
Aerial support was also provided to aid the search and rescue efforts.
The child was found safe and sound next to the road approximately an hour into the search.
