Update: Lockdown Lifted for Algona Schools Due to Outside Threat

(Algona)--Schools in the Algona area were placed on lockdown for a time this(Wed.) afternoon.

 

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says a phone call was received regarding an outside threat to Bishop Garrigan schools. All Algona schools  were then placed on locked down and law enforcement was on site at all schools. 

 

North Union Schools and West Bend Mallard Schools were not sheltered in place but did have increased officer presence.

 

The lockdown has since been lifted and Algona and Bishop Garrigan schools dismissed at normal times.
 

The incident is still under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
