No Candidates On Ballot for Emmet County Attorney

(Estherville)--When Emmet County voters go to the polls in next month’s primary election, they will not find a candidate on the ballot for County Attorney. Emmet County Auditor Heidi Goebel says no candidates from either the Republican or Democrat party submitted paperwork to be on the ballot.

Goebel details the number of votes needed for each party.

She says if a write-in candidate receives the nomination at the primary election, that candidate must file an affidavit of candidacy by 5 pm on the seventh day after the canvass.

Goebel says if there is no general election winner, the Board of Supervisors can fill the position by appointment once the vacancy is created.
