Laurens Man Facing Charges for January Robbery of Spencer Convenience Store

(Spencer)– A Laurens man is facing charges in connection with a robbery that occurred earlier this year at a Spencer convenience store.

 

The Spencer Police Department says 35-year-old Daniel Douglas of Laurens was arrested Friday by the Pocahontas Police Department. Police say Douglas was wanted in connection with the January 2nd robbery at the Brew Convenience Store at 1001 South Grand Avenue. Douglas allegedly entered the store shortly before 10 pm wearing a face covering and took money from behind the counter. He also allegedly assaulted an employee who confronted him and then fled the scene.

 

Douglas was charged with 2nd degree robbery, a class C felony. He is being held in the Clay County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
