Spencer Woman Injured in Two Vehicle Accident in Hospers

(Hospers)--A Spencer woman was sent to the hospital after a two vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Hospers.

 

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 10:45 am at the intersection of Highway 60 and 400th Street. According to a news release, 87-year-old Mabel Rush of Spencer was driving a 2019 Chevy Equinox westbound on 400th Street and 49-year-old Timothy Paulsen of Sheldon was driving 2008 Ford F-150 northbound on Highway 60. Rush failed to yield the right of way and the two vehicles collided at the intersection.

 

Rush was transported to the Orange City Hospital for suspected serious injuries.

 

The Chevy sustained approximately $15,000 in damage while the Ford pickup sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.

 

Rush was issued a citation for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
