(Algona)--An Emmetsburg woman was killed Monday morning in crash involving a semi and an SUV in Kossuth County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred about 10:30 am at the intersection of 90th Ave. and 210th St., west of Algona.
The patrol says a 2014 Peterbilt semi was going southbound on 90th Ave, when it failed to stop at the intersection and struck a 2022 Chevy Equinox, which was going eastbound on 210th St.
The SUV’s driver, 47-year-old Carolee Wise of Emmetsburg, was killed in the crash. A passenger in the SUV, 76-year-old Bernadette Wise of Emmetsburg and the semi’s driver, 40-year-old Teddy Kutsch of Brule, Nebraska, were taken by ambulance to Kossuth Reginal Healthcare in Algona.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Algona Police, Fire and Ambulance and Kossuth County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
