Ledyard Man Arrested for Stealing Fuel From Coop

(Ledyard)--A Ledyard man has been arrested on multiple theft related charges in connection with an incident that occurred earlier this month at a cooperative.

 

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Jacob Govern arrested on a warrant this past Friday. According to the criminal complaint, State Line Cooperative reported a theft had occurred on April 6th. The complaint alleges that a vehicle could be seen on surveillance footage, in which the driver stopped and used tools to cut a lock before allegedly taking fuel from the coop. Deputies identified the vehicle as Govern’s, and an arrest warrant was issued.

 

Govern was booked into the Kossuth County Jail on charges of Possession of Burglar Tools, 5th Degree Theft, 5th Degree Criminal Mischief, and Trespassing. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on April 28th.
