(Okoboji)--The Dickinson County Nature Center and Brooks Golf will be kicking off Birding on the Green for 2026 early next month. Amy Heibult with Dickinson County Conservation says the first event will be held on Monday, May 4th.
Last year, the program totaled 88 bird species for the season with an average of 40 species recorded at each event. Heibult says each event begins by meeting in the Brooks Golf parking lot at 7 am.
On another topic, Heibult says volunteers are needed at the Nature Center and at the Westport Schoolhouse.
