(Estherville)--Severe storms rolled across northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota Monday evening producing large hail and at least four tornadoes.
Clay County Emergency Management confirmed a tornado touchdown two miles northeast of Webb. Tornado touchdowns were also reported 4 miles east-northeast of Graettinger in Emmet County, four miles north of Emmetsburg, and six miles west of Elmore in Faribault County. Funnel clouds were also reported southwest of Graettinger, south of Ayrshire and in the Burt area.
There were also several large hail reports. Hail as large as hen eggs was reported in Lakefield and golf ball size hail was reported south of Harris. Quarter size hail was reported in Fairmont, Peterson, Webb and Jackson. Penny size hail was reported near Arnolds Park.
In Emmet County, there was a report of out buildings completely destroyed by a tornado north of Armstrong on Highway 15 with debris scattered into nearby fields. The home on the property is still standing.
