Upper Elementary Student of the Month
Perseverance March 2019
Cruz is 8 yrs. old and in Mrs. Ries’ 2nd grade this year at Demoney Elementary.
Cruz is the son of Brooke and Jesse Nitchals.
Cruz has many interests including playing video games, baseball, playing football with friends, and loves doing math.
Cruz wants to be a legendary baseball player when he grows up. He said he felt happy when he found out he was star student this month. He thinks I picked him because he was a good listener, and he keeps working no matter what.
Quotes from staff/teachers: Cruz works hard in every part of the school day. He does not give up if the task is difficult or challenging. Great Job Cruz- Mrs. Ries
Cruz was chosen by his grade level to represent the character trait perseverance due to his actions in school and in the community.
When they grow up what they want to be: a baseball player
Advice for other students: “Never give up if something is too hard
How they felt when they heard they received student of the month: Happy
What (this month’s trait) means to them-who taught it to them, how they learned it, etc. “be patient and keep working on it. I learned it by teaching myself how to keep trying.”
Why they think they got nominated: because I’m listening to the teacher and I try to always do what she asks me to do.
What will their parents say when they hear you are the student of the month: “Good job and keep doing your best at everything!”
Favorite part of school: Math
The ELC School District, KILR, and the community of Estherville would like to thank Cruz for being a person of character and leadership!
