(Esthervlle)--Reports continue to circulate that Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey will be nominated to a post with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During a stop in Estherville this week, Northey said he has had conversations with new U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Purdue.
Northey, who farms near Spirit Lake, is serving his third term as Iowa Ag Secretary. There was a report last week that Northey will be nominated to serve as undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation.
Northey says either way he will continue to serve as Iowa Ag Secretary for several more months.
Northey made his comments after touring the Daybreak Foods plant in Estherville.
