Postponements and Cancellations
Monday, January 22 & Tuesday, January 23
A snow removal period has been declared for the city of Estherville effective tonight(Monday) beginning at 11 p.m. and continuing until the streets are cleared, except for the Central Business District where the snow removal period will expire at 6 a.m. Parking will be prohibited on all streets including residential areas within the city. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
A tow ban has been issued for all of Northwest Iowa effective immediately. Any vehicles in the ditch will be towed out as conditions improve.
State Jazz Band is postponed until Wednesday night. The ELC Jazz Band will perform at 8:50 pm on Wednesday at the Sami Center in Spirit Lake.
At Iowa Lakes Community College - all evening classes (both credit and continuing education) at all campuses are cancelled today. This closing also includes the Emmetsburg Smith Wellness Center.
Iowa Lakes Community College women's basketball game scheduled for tonight at Little Priest Tribal College has been postponed to a later date.
Brand FX in Swea City will have an 8:00 am start Tuesday, January 23rd
Okoboji High School J term presentation night has been postponed until Wednesday night
The producer's meeting scheduled at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 23rd at Asmus Farm Supply has been cancelled.
The Estherville Garden Club meeting scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23rd at the Estherville Public Library is cancelled.

Emmetsburg Public and Catholic schools - 2 hours late.
Estherville Lincoln Central Schools, Emmet County Head Start and Early Head Start will have a 2 hour late start. There will be no morning breakfast or morning practices and activities.
Graettinger-Terril - 2 hours late.
Harris-Lake Park - 2 hours late. No morning pre-school.
Iowa Lakes Community College all classes (credit and continuing education) at all campuses will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018. All offices will open at 10 a.m. Staff and students are asked to not arrive early so that snowplows can clear parking lots and sidewalks. In addition, the Iowa Lakes Show/Jazz Choir Festival which is going on at the Estherville campus, has been delayed a bit. Individuals are encouraged to visit www.iowalakes.edu for an updated schedule for the day.
